Kasrat — fitness app case study. A concept fitness app, focused on… | by Rohit Methwani | Sep, 2020

Before jumping into more details of the project, let me explain what/why is Kasrat. Kasrat stands for exercise in Hindi & that’s where the name was born for the app which helps others in Kasrat 😉. Kasrat is a mobile app that helps users in their daily workouts, customized plans according to their lifestyle, weight, and height.

Kasrat aims to help people in doing the gym workouts irrespective of their experience in fitness.

This project was made during the Coronavirus pandemic situation where all the gyms, parks were closed to avoid the spread. So like every other person I jumped on Play store to find out potential home workout apps. I found many but expect 1, none of those provided me the desired workout according to my demographics. Meanwhile, I decided to ask my fitness enthusiasts friends whether they know any good application. It was all in vain as they had problems with the applications they tried. That’s where I decided to design a concept app taking into account the problems. So I started doing market research about the same and my primary source was the reviews of the users on the App Store and Play store.

Enough of the talks! Let’s jump right in.

Just to enhance my After effects skills, I wanted to make a promo like this. Thanks in advance for watching it 🙈. Special thanks to Chethan KVS for putting up a tutorial on his Youtube channel for the promo making.

I am learning hence you might find it a bit fast/slow 🙈

People who can’t go to the gym generally rely on home workouts and other outdoor activities but overall body growth must be required. Also, people who go to the gym simply aren’t getting any attention from the trainers unless they opt for a personal trainer.

The primary goal is to solve problems such as no idea of proper postures, no guidance, and help in the home workouts.

  • Beginners in fitness
  • Fitness Enthusiasts

So I started with the secondary market research. As I mentioned previously, I started by exploring the Google Play Store, and I considered the apps which I personally tried out.
